The American Advertising Awards, home of the ADDY® Award, is one of the industry's largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year in competitions offered through local AAF clubs. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising.

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the AAF Pensacola phase is the first of a three-tier national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards - recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.

Join us for the most anticipated event of the year as we recognize some of the best Advertising Agencies and Creatives in the Pensacola area. American Advertising Award winners will be announced at the Gala.

The 2020-2021 American Advertising Awards Gala ceremony is Feb. 20, 2021 at the Scenic Hills Country Club. The Gala will be Wizard of Oz theme. Each year, AAF Pensacola invites local television stations and cable media to present their fall line-up for your viewing pleasure. It's a great chance to learn what your target audience is watching and see when your favorite show returns. A must-see program for anyone who buys, sells or works with media!

Mark Barry started his career in the advertising industry as an Art Director at J. Walter Thompson. Later, he chased the money as part of UnitedHealth Group’s in-house creative team until he opened his own agency where he ran himself ragged for over 6 years. He is now an Assistant Professor of Advertising at the University of Alabama. He is the Director of Minerva, UA’s creative advertising specialization and teaches classes in concepting, portfolio development, and pitching.

Recently returning from Country Radio Seminar, Brent Lane will give a presentation and in depth look at research done by Edison Research that looks at the future of Country, radio, and how music gets passed down…and up. Research shows nearly 63% of 13-19 year-olds listen to the radio every day. Join us on April 18th, for a look at how you can reach teens and their parents through radio.

The Second Poore's name is derived from our great friend Kris Poore who has always been an advocate of sponsoring student art to forward it to district. Thank you, Kris, for keeping this tradition alive. We will be playing bingo at the Gala to help support this event.
